Getting HeimView running

Four steps from download to everyday use.

  1. Download Get the official Android APK
  2. Install Allow install from your browser or file
  3. Enter setup code Enrol this tablet to your network
  4. You’re ready Allow camera & mic, then stay connected

Getting started

  1. Download HeimView from the Android download page.
  2. Install the APK on the tablet.
  3. Open HeimView and enter the setup code for that Device.
  4. Allow camera and microphone access when Android asks.
Tip Keep the tablet in landscape. HeimView is designed for horizontal use.

Installing HeimView

HeimView is distributed as an Android APK. On first install, Android may ask you to allow installation from the browser or file source you used. After that, open the app and continue with your setup code.

Go to Download

Latest version The download page shows file size, release notes, and whether the build is current or testing.

Setup code

Each Device has its own setup code, provided by the person who manages your HeimView system. Enter it carefully. If enrolment fails, ask them for a new code (older codes may no longer work).

Connection problems

Try these checks before asking for a new setup code.

Wi‑Fi

Confirm the tablet is on Wi‑Fi and can reach the internet.

Reconnect

Keep HeimView open and wait a moment. Tablets often reconnect on their own.

Access

If the tablet was replaced or access was removed, you will need a new setup code.

Camera & microphone

Use the on-screen Camera and Audio controls to publish or pause what you share. If Android has denied permission, open the tablet’s system settings for HeimView and allow camera and microphone access, then return to the app.

Using HeimView

Host tablets oversee Guest tablets in a calm Grid. Guest tablets show a clear Host view with simple controls. Pause, Camera, and Audio stay under each person’s control on their own device.

Where do I get HeimView?

Download the official Android APK from the Download page. HeimView is Android only.

What is a setup code?

A one-time code for a specific Device, issued by the person who manages your HeimView system. It enrols that tablet; you do not pick a network or role yourself.

Why is the tablet landscape?

HeimView is designed for landscape Android tablets used at home. Keep the device horizontal for the intended layout.
